My name is Irene Benally. I am from Big Mountain, Arizona. I am 60 years old. I started weaving when I was a small girl. My mother, Ruth Benally, taught me. I live with my mother and I work at our community school.
In my free time, I weave.
Weaving a rug keeps me relaxed and keeps me out of stress. It is therapy for me. I forget about all of the things that make me stressed. I would like to thank everyone for the Rug Show. I am happy about this. Thank you Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program.
