Hello. My name is Nanibah Bigman. I am from Big Mountain, Arizona. I am of the Mexican clan, born for Red Running Into The Water. My maternal grandfather’s clan is Edgewater. My paternal grandfather’s clan is Manygoats.
I learned to weave when I was a little girl. I like to learn and work on rugs that have different patterns and colors. I learned how to weave from my grandmother, Ruth Benally, and my mother, Irene Benally. What interests me in weaving is how colorful and textural the rugs are that I’ve seen being made by my grandmother.
